Lets face it – Many.. Oh wait! Not many.. Almost all webmasters/bloggers believe that Adsense is the best. But do they know why? There is no reason to this, they just like it because of high PPC rates. But what are the benefits? Let me tell you, except the high PPC rates there are NO benefits! Now lets see the good side of Adbrite and the negative side of Adsense:

1) Adbrite allows you to select your keywords. Yes! You don’t need to blog or make a website about the highest paying keywords(Like Adsense), you just need to select the keywords you think your readers would be interested in having a look at. Example: You run a free image sharing website with ads over it(Read the last point if you really have an image sharing website). Adsense will show the ads with the keywords: “free, sharing, website” and your domain name. Where as, Adbrite will show the ads that you think your visitors would be interested in. We take the same example, a free image sharing website: Now what do you think? Why are people using your service? One simple reason: Its FREE! So basically your traffic category falls into the freebie category and about 75% your visitors would be likely interested in “Making Money Online”, which is a high PPC keyword. Just select the keywords with the highest paying keywords and your done! Adbrite will show the ads of your selected keywords, unlikely Adsense showing Ads according to your location. (Since I’m from India, I only see LK Advani or Shaadi.com ads on Adsense Ads. How bad is that?!)

2) Adbrite has Inline and Full Page ads. These two are the major postive points about Adbrite. If your running a high traffic website or a one which allows the user to download, upload and share files the full page and inline text ads are the BEST! Instead of using only captcha you could use these ads + captcha and make money by allowing the user to download the file(s) This ad is best recommended for Image/File hosting websites.

3) Payout is at $5!!! WOW! Adbrite pays out is at only $5 which is pretty cool. But they use the Net-60 payment meathod which requires the publisher to wait for 60 days from the date of generation of the click value. I’m all cool about this, I can select my payout from $5 – $xxxx. Which ever I am comforable with. In Adsense you need to reach $100 which is easily achiveable BUT If you achive it in the wrong way or if your CTR is above 10.. You are BANNED! This is not with Adbrite

4) PPC Value: We all know that Adsense offers a very good PPC value, however, same can be achieved with Adbrite. As I mentioned above,Â select the (highest paying) keywords you think are good for you and see the same PPC value as Adsense. Trust me, I’ve tried it! I got upto $1.26 for a click. Thats seriously crazy!

5) Monetize your images. You can monetize your images with Adbrite. How cool is that?!?! Benefits of this? Many visitors try to click on the image or rip off your work but you will still make money off this I found this feature of Adbrite a killer one!! Even if a user tries to rip off your image or tries to right click and copy the location, you are being paid Tomorrow if someone has your copyright image on his/her blog, don’t worry.. You have been paid for it! Thats not it, If the user copy pastes your complete article the ad is going with it

I believe there are many more features in Adsense and Adbrite both but I have tried my level best to cover up the major positive/negative factors of both. But I strongly recommend Adbrite.

Quality traffic tip #1: Leave comments

I can think of no better way to get your name out in front of key players in your industry than by leaving smart, relevant comments on existing blogs. Each comment you leave serves a couple of purposes: it creates a link back to your site (always a good thing), it illustrates that you have something of value to add, and can be the first step in building a relationship with the site owner.

Example #1: By leaving comments on problogger.net, I started to form a relationship with the site’s author. We moved from exchanging comments, to email, to IM, to beer (a good progression in my books!). That relationship has done wonders for my business in the form of referrals and testimonials from a very trusted source. It never would have come to be if I didn’t leave comments.

I can almost guarantee that every time you leave a comment, someone will visit your site. Building your audience one at a time may sound like an awful lot of work. But those readers who come via comments are very likely to be interested in what you and your blog are about. So you odds of converting that reader to a client (or whatever your conversion goal is) are good.

Note though, that you’ve got to have something to add. Just leaving a comment with your site name and address, or otherwise spamming comments is just plain dumb.

Quality traffic tip #2: Participate in forums

This is actually very similar to leaving comments. Just about every niche under the sun has a forum dedicated to it. The people who populate those forums tend to be amongst the most vocal and passionate members of their community. Engaging with them, on their terms, by contributing something of value is a great way to find influencers and thought leaders.

Be cautious here though. Do not just show up and say “Hey, check out my blog”. First, establish your credibility by participating in a number of discussions. Then, when it’s relevant to do so, mention your site.

Again, this can seem like a painstaking way to build traffic. It does take time and effort. But the results can be astounding if targeted traffic is what you need.

Quality traffic tip #3: Email other bloggers

When you’ve written something great, write to other bloggers in your niche and tell them about it. Do it politely, without expectations, and you may be pleasantly surprised to find that you pick up a bunch of new readers. The key here is “without expectations”. Don’t email the same person frequently, and don’t be obnoxious. Save this for when you’ve got something special. When you do, simply summarize your post, and write something like “I’ve just posted about blah, and thought you might be interested.”

It’s amazing how few new bloggers take advantage of email. When done correctly, you’re not imposing on the receiving blogger. Rather you’re helping point out resources he may not have otherwise been aware of.

Quality traffic tip #4: Submit your site to relevant blog directories

A google search for “blog directory” (with quotation marks) returns 9,360,000 results. At least a couple of those will have sections relevant to your industry or niche. Almost all directories allow you to submit your site for free. Do a bit of research, find the directories that are relevant to you, and spend a couple of minutes per week submitting your site. Super easy.

Quality traffic tip #5: Join a network

Using google again, “blog network” (with quotation marks) returns 1,190,000 results. There are blog networks for just about everyone. The benefit of joining a network is shared traffic. Network members interlink like crazy, and often refer work to each other. I’m a member of the 9rules network (one of the first, actually). Aside from the traffic boost, one of the greatest benefits of membership is the behind the scenes camaraderie that has sprung up on the private message board. There’s lots of “real life” networking going on here, with members helping each other and their businesses in a myriad of ways.

Quality traffic tip #6: Online advertising

Online advertising need not cost very much, yet it can be extremely effective. Find sites that are in or are related to your industry but that do not directly compete with you. Approach the site owners to see if you can purchase a small ad. Costs for this can be really low – as low as $20 per month. Because you can control the ad’s message, you can ensure that you’re getting targeted results for your investment.

Oh yeah, the offline world of advertising… I remember that… Are there any industry specific publications or newsletters you can advertise in? Depending on your niche, these can be very reasonably priced, and can offer extremely targeted results.

Have something really relevant to say? Let the press know about it. Press releases appear to be dying a slow death, but they’re far from gone. Consult a PR pro when the time is right.

Most reporters rely on tips for their stories, so they’re usually quite receptive to anything that’s within their scope of reporting, and is of genuine value.

Google AdSense is the current leader in content-sensitive web-based marketing. Webmasters can place Google AdSense JavaScript code on their web pages in order to allow Google’s servers to show context sensitive advertisements (Google Adwords). The left hand side of this page shows an example of a Google AdSense skyscraper displaying a text or image ad.

Google’s terms and conditions are very strict such that many web publishers cannot use adsense adverts on their sites. They are either denied from association the Google AdSense program, or in a situation that is becoming more and more common do not wish to do business with Google. A number of publishers are also finding their Adsense accounts are being disabled for reasons that are completely beyond their control. The problem is that most of the alternatives to Google’s Adsense are pretty useless. Most of the good ones (such as doubleclick) are only interested in very large volume customers and so are not interested in the little guy with his blog who wants to earn a small income on the side. For this reason I have compiled my Top 10 alternatives to Google’s Adsense that are ideal for the small time publisher.

1 ) AdBrite, is not long one of the best alternatives there is to Google’s adsense. While they do not offer the same large selection of ad formats that Clicksor and Google Adsense provide you they do offer the most ordinarily used ones. In addition they offer inline page links with have some great click through ratios as well as inaugural full page ads which offer an excellent way to monetize all traffic to your site not just traffic that clicks on your ads. Their payouts are also very competitive. They have more relaxed terms and conditions than Adsense and are much more accepting of smaller publishers including bloggers.

If you’re a publisher, use AdBrite to set your own ad rates, and approve or reject every ad that’s purchased for your site or just have AdBrite auto accept ever ad. AdBrite enables you to instantly sell ads to your visitors via a “Your Ad Here” link, in addition to selling through AdBrite’s marketplace and sales team.

Revenue is typically split 75/25 in your favor. Through a small snippet of HTML placed on your site, they handle serving, scheduling, billing, customer service, and sales. About half of AdBrite’s sales are generated from the marketplace and sales team, while the other half are generated from users clicking “Your Ad Here” on your website.

While AdBrite can provide publishers with more income and better ads than traditional ad networks such as Google AdSense, they work fine along-side them as a way for you to generate additional ad revenue by selling ads directly to your visitors — something the other ad systems don’t do. AdBrite also lets you select your own minimum bid prices and give you the option of showing an alternative ad service such as Clicksor when bid prices fall below your minimum.

If you’re using AdBrite on your website you also have the option to turn off AdBrite’s “run-of-network ads” and AdBrite will only display ads that have been approved by you allowing you to prevent competitors ads being shown on your site. If you have no ads running, AdBrite will display nothing but “Your Ad Here” or your alternative ad provider.

Note, from my experiences it can take a day or so from when you signup with AdBrite and put their code on your website to actually start seeing relevant ads showing up. So if you see the message “Advertize on this site” just be patient and give it a day or so and you should start seeing relevant ads showing up.

2) Clicksor

Clicksor is one of the current leaders of the small publisher Adsense competition. They have payouts upto a market leading 85% and dissimilar a number of alternatives the cost per click bid values are high enough that you can earn a respectable income. They are also, in my experience, much more tollerant than Google. Their terms and conditions suggest that you should only place one copy of their code on a page but as long as you only place a single pop-up or DHTML code on a page they seem happy to let you place many context sensitive ad blocks on a single site.

Yesterday i have visit this site to test my HTML skill.. and I have reach level 7 to hack the password provide by them. Unfortunately I cant go through to the next level because I dont know how to manipulate the PHP scripting while they are online in the sever.. hehehe so i fail to grab $100 bucks ohhh
