The first few days after stopping will be the hardest. Look back at your smoking diary and see
what triggered you to smoke. Now, think of other things to do instead of lighting up at these

Why do I need to stop smoking?
Cigarettes are the leading cause of preventable deaths in this country. Tobacco is toxic to your
body. The nicotine in cigarettes increases your risk of heart disease. The tars and other toxic
substances in tobacco can cause cancer of the lung and other organs. Tars also damage the lungs,
leading to serious breathing problems. Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide and other
chemicals, such as DDT, arsenic and formaldehyde. All of these chemicals are bad for your body.

1. Urea, a chemical compound that is a major component in urine, is used to add “flavor” to cigarettes.

2. The United States is the only major cigarette market in the world in which the percentage of women smoking cigarettes (22%) comes close to the number of men who smoke (35%). Europe has a slightly larger gap (46% of men smoke, 26% of women smoke), while most other regions have few women smokers. Smoking S**ks

We often torture ourselves remembering the so-called attractions of smoking. Even though we can shed the light of truth and reason and dispell them, try to bring to mind some bad effects of smoking to level the playing field of temptation.

1. plugged toilet from cigarette butts while smoking in shower
2. stomach problems from smoking during a meal
3. raspy voice
4. clearing throat a lot
5. heart palpitations
6. smoking does terrible things to the skin
7. gum disease = teeth fall out
8. shortness of breath and coughing all of the time
9. makes you smell like a butt.
